I have a 2002 explorer with a factory oem radio with 6 disc changer build-in in it. It has a factory subwoofer in the back, which is being pushed by a factory amp. Can anyone tell me which wires are used to power and audio signal this amp/sub? I want to replace the factory radio for an aftermarket unit and still be able to use the factory subwoofer and amp.

Just make sure you "turn on" the factory amp.

Ok thanks for that info... do you also know which color wires are used for the sound signals? Or, how does that oem amp receive it's sound (signal)

Why not just buy an amp integration harness from a company like metra?

you can use the factory amp & sub, but if its the one im thinking of, it takes a low level input into the amp (not a speaker level input). I know that MTX makes cables that seperate the wires of an rca into speaker wires. Connect those wires from the sub rca output of the deck into the input wires. Works like a charm, and you have sub control thru the deck.
