hey all   i have an idea for some amp racks   and i feel that bendable plywood would be the best solution to my problem. my question is  where to purchase it  and has anyone worked with it?  is there precautions i should take ?  any tips or tricks ?

Personally I don’t care for the bendable plywood that is on the market. If you want that stuff you can get it from select products or mobile solutions. I prefer 1/8th “ ply wood that is used for door skins. You can pick it up at your local home improvement store for about 8 bucks for a 4x8 sheet. It will bend a tighter radius before cracking, its stronger, and has a much smoother surface. You can laminate multiple layers for even greater strength (use contact cement and staples), or you can just glass up on it. If you need a real real tight bend you can wet it with acetone, alcohol, or laquer thinner. This will allow you to bend it and tack it in place with staples. The solvent will evaporate fast so you can move on with your project.

im using bendable plywood on my dash and i got it at a local lumber yard. I like it better than door skin. The lumber yard had two sizes, i think 3/8 and 1/4. I am using 3/8 and trust me it bends ALOT before it will crack. I rolled the hole sheet of plwood up and carryed it under my arm. Its crazy stuff and not very heavy. the 3/8 is alittle pricy tho

i picked up two 4x8 sheets today for roughly about $35-37 a sheet from floridas first choice lumber...and also found one of the only places in jacksonville that also carried 1in MDF....it was a pretty good trip...but you will just have to get on google and find all the lumber places around you and then get on the horn and ask.
