Hi... I'm a newbie to the remote start install world.  I have tried hooking up a Code Alarm ca425/535 combination to a 1998 Olds Intrigue.  I think I have the necessary wires hooked up but when I try to get into programming it I don't get any chirps to tell me what is going on.  Any help would be appreciated.

So... you've got both a CA-425 and a CA-535 installed in the same car? Why?
I'm not a professional installer. But I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express.

--Does the siren chrip with lock and unlock? If so, that means you have the siren hooked up right.
--Next, test the ignition wire where it enters the 425 brain......if you don't have ignition connected right, the unit won't enter programming.
--Also, is the door trigger hooked up? The 535 is only remote start/keyless, with no security, right?
The 425 still needs to see a door open before you can enter programming. Yes, it's a stupid design, but that's the way it is.
If you haven't connected the door trigger wire to the car, you can just temporarily connect it to chassis ground to enter programming.

I don't have a siren to hook up.  I thought I could just use the horn instead of the siren?

Yes... the 535 is remote start and keyless only.

Yes, you can use the horn.
Regardless, you can't get into programming without door trigger.

OK.. thanks... I think I have the door trigger hooked up right but now I am trying to get the hood pin installed right.  Once I get that installed I will try again.

Well... I still get no chirping.  I checked the door trigger, ignition and valet button.  I am lost as what to do next?  Any help??

Thanks.

Ah, yes I'd forgotten about that.  I had a feeling it was going to be something obvious but I couldn't remember why.

The CA site doesn't have the info for the horn.  All I can figure is to check the polarity to see what's going on there.  If it's negative you just hook the BROWN / black wire directly to it but if it's positive you'll need a relay.

... the voltage I get from my horn is only like 0.3 negative and I have the BROWN / black wire hooked up to it.  I still get nothing.

Do I need to have the passlock II bypassed before I can get into the programming mode??
