First off you'll need a heuge! alternator and nice battery to power any amp that will push those subs.

Im thinking an optima battery, I get a nice discount on anything from O'rielly's and they carry them, I am going to re-run all the stock auto wiring, ie: main ground and 12 volt wires to zero gage or larger. I do not have a clue what to look for in an alternator, I do not want to fry my battery with one. and i noticed another thread with an under the hood cap  i may do that also, after more research. what amps would be a good place to start looking? I am not in any hurry to build this system, I want to do it right the first time.

I cant find online any where how much cubic feet of air space a 10 inch solo x requires, I am debating buying 2 or 3 of them depending on what size box is required, and do you think the 10 inch solo x's will hit as hard as like alpine type r 12's? my whole thing is I want a really realy hard hitting good sounding system without having two 12's or 15's. I like the element of surprise and being unique everyone has 12's every one wants bigger and better I'm thinking smaller and still better any advise ?

you probably need a 2500.1 per solox and a 400 amp alternator and a couple extra batteries for reserve

A single 2500.1 would power 2 10x's but 2 2500.1 would match the rms of each sub.
Each 2500.1 will draw 300+ amps of power. I have personally tested them, and they will draw a ton!
So you going to be looking at possibly dual 200 amp alternators, and a good 3 to 4 batts to keep those amps fully fed all the time.
Your gonna be looking at about $1200 into the charging system, and another $1000 to $1500 for the amps.
Is this the money your looking to be spending?
The L7's will pound to the likes of alot of people and then some. and dont require near the airspace.
The solo x 10's will require approx 5 cuft per sub.
What kind of vehicle is this going into?
Are you really looking to spend $4,000 in a sub system alone?

Thank you for the detailed response I was looking for. right now I only have two type r 12" alpine subs and a 500.1 alpine digital amp. I am hoping one or two 10" solo x's will devistate what I already have. I live in an average town, not many people care to invest in their audio system, I want to have spl as well as sq. and show everyone who believe's "you do not have a sub system unless its at least 2 x 12"s", the better picture If I can blow them away with one 10 thats my goal no matter what investment(s) I need to make, also I have had a long passion for my vehicle's and specificly the way they sound. I am tierd of being a poser pushing like explode 12"s or MA 12"s or low grade punch and legacy etc.. I want my first taste and experience with pro lvl equipment and quality, for now I will only be using polk audio for mids and highs, however by tax season I plan on investing In Focal mids/highs, do you have any suggestions or other advise?

If you want to really shock people I would get a single 12" L7 in the proper ported box powered properly and you will out slam A LOT of people, just ask Jeff Chilcott he has a large amount of experience with those subs, I am sure he can give you a box recommendation for that sub that will knock your socks off.

The Solo X in my opinion takes too much to make it go loud (charging system $$$$,amps $$$,and a large realistate in your trunk)  ,a L7 will go loud enough for it to honestly hurt and damage your hearing.

I agree, I had 2 L7 12s on a 1500.1, took out one and just built a bag box with a BIG port, its every bit as loud as when I had 2 and the lows are much much better. I def agree with the money going into solo x to mke them perform the way they should. I have also heard stories about solo xs being used in daily drivers dont last too long, they're strictly SPL subs from all i have heard
It Hz

The solox's will last. an enclosure I built for a X18 over 3 years ago is still running strong.
But in all reality I would lean towards going with 2 10L7's in a box with I could thow out the design to.   with a zx2500.1 on them.
I recently did a install on a 98 tahoe 4 dr.   Used 2 10L7's in a 4.3 cu ft common chamber box. Tuning was set at approx 43hz with slot port. Powered by a single zx1500, this thing is crazy! It metered 143.6db at 42hz    It does alright in the mid to high range, but fomr someone who listens to rap all day, this thing is nasty.
I will see if I can get some vid clips and pictures int he next few days to put up
