I installed an Astro 3106 alarm/remote start in this van almost 4 years ago. Now all of a sudden the security light on the dash comes on while driving down the road after 10 min. (only a couple times)

When remote starting it comes on EVERY TIME. Shut the R/S off, start with the key, all is well. ALSO.... the parking brake light (wich I have nothing connected to) AND the ABS light comes on... again

intermittently. I do want to believe these issues are related to a 4 year old install.... but who knows. The truck is/was a bare bones rig, no power nothin, so the bypass was the good old fashioned

standard passlock with the dip switches. ( I had it so I used it) Both Ign.'s all connections soldered...etc. etc. etc.

If this was YOUR install....where would YOU start yout troubleshooting?

Had a very similar problem with a PLII truck. The check engine light was coming on (but not the brake light as you are describing). Put in a DEI self-learning bypass and all has been good. I have since switched again to using only the GMBP when available.

Installer, IT support, and FFL. I need less hobbies.

so abs and parking light are coming on both with R/S and key start?? i would suspect something with the bcm.
