I have a Chevy Colorado and I'm using my factory deck with aftermarket amps, speakers, etc. The deck automatically adjusts the bass when the volume is turned up or down. This re-Q is supposed to make the setting stay even at all all volume levels. I am wondering if anyone here has used it and if it does what it claims? Thanks

I haven't used one myself, but generally speaking those things were designed for vehicles where installing an aftermarket CD player wasn't an option, you have the option, why waste a lot of money on aftermarket components that will only amplify the crap coming from your factory head unit? You can get a pretty good headunit with front/rear/sub pre outs for under $250 these days, that should be your first upgrade.

Yeah I know but I like using the factory deck. It keeps prying eyes from wanting to rip me off! It just makes me more comfortable to hide everything (best security in my opinion). I also have the data bus stereo so replacing it does mess with my vehicle a little. I just like the factory look.

I've installed a half dozen of these and they work as claimed. Pretty remarkable piece if you ask me.

Just an FYI it's not an MTX it's a Mitek re-Q. Also they just did a review of it in the November CA&E. And one more thing is now there is a new one and it has an auxillary input built in it and creates a remote turn on for you if you dont have one. If I would have waited a couple of days I guess all my questions would have been answered. BTW they said it works great.

Speaking of Mitek, does Xtant stuff sound as great as they claim? I know I was once gotten by MTX's 'Head to Head' of the 9500 VS the W7mtx re-q? - Last Post -- posted image.
