yes, a tach sense is more leliable because once the car has starter, the unit looks for a tach input (low voltage) and tells the unit to stop cranking which will protect your starter motor. If you keep cranking, then over time serious problems might occur. For sure your installer installed a starter kill. dont know if he installed a anti grind.

Hello yet again!
Hopefully somebody can shed some light on this subject. After looking through 12volt, I was only able to find wiring information for 2004 accord which I think was an auto.
Apparently on the 2005 6-Speed Accord Coupes, the tach wire is in a different place then is described by other years. Currently, the car cranks for an addition 1-2 seconds. We have set the alarm to the standard low ignition crank time (.1), and have it set to the lowest tach sense as adjusted by the installer through timing the release of the clutch.
Right now, we are using the ignition wire to have the remote start work because we cannot locate the tach wire in my specific vehicle. Even the guys at CompuSTAR tech are stumped.
Hopefully somebody who has setup a remote start on a 2005 Accord Coupe Manual 6-Speed can shed some light on this subject and tell me which wire is the tach wire or whatever wire they used besides the ignition to setup their remote start because the automatic accords have the tach wire different then the manual accord

Tach can be found in 2 locations. 1 as stated above. in a brown junction connector, it has several smaller plugs in it. It's in a plug that has 2 wires. a GREEN / WHITE, and the blue/red tach wire. It's a 6 cyl. reading.

The second is the pass side behind the center console V6 is pin E13, and the 4 banger is A 15. It;s a 31 pin connector, the wire is white for both, and it's a single cylinder signal.

Thanks for the info, I'm going to pass it on to the installer.
This is what we had to go on before in which we didn't find any wires on the 6-speed 2005 accord.
Tachometer blue/red or blue   ac   ECM/PCM
Notes: The ECM/PCM is on the front of the transmission tunnel.
The connectors are on the passenger side. On the 4 cylinder models
the tach wire is in the white 31 pin connector E, pin 25. On
the 6 cylinder models it is in the gray connector A, pin 23.
So now, your saying that we should look into:
The second is the pass side behind the center console V6 is pin E13
What color are the wire(s) that I should be looking for?
Thanks!

Sorry answered my own question, just to clarify, on both (v4, v6)models the wires are white? on man trans models or auto?

The tach wire color is the same for auto, or manual.

How did the installer bypass the clutch ? Make sure that you use the RED / BLACK 2nd STARTER wire from the CN2 harness to trigger the clutch bypass instead of the status output wire. This will ensure that the starter will only engage as long as the starter out would crank.

The clutch bypass is a lt.green @ the clutch switch. It requires a negative start signal. As Jeff said, a start signal, NOT a status output signal.
