I recently added a 561R to a 1999 Chevy S10 which already had an APS596 installed. I got everything to work EXCEPT that after I remote start the unit with the APS 2-way remote, I cannot shut it down using the same function. I have set the 561R to one pulse activation. It seems that the AUX channel 3 on the APS is going dead once the vehicle is running. Anyone have any ideas?

I can take a ground wire and tap the activation wire once and it will shut down, but the AUX3 no longer will send a ground pulse once the car is running.

Did you use the dark blue/black trace wire or the dark blue wire? I am not really a Audiovox person but according to the manual they recommend using the dk blue/black for activating a RS.
I would have to think that the output of the dark blue wire is turned off when the ignition is energized.
Installer, IT support, and FFL. I need less hobbies.
