I have a choice of either a Kenwood MP5029 or an Alpine 9870E HU.

The Kenwood has 2 sets of rca preouts while the Alpine has one and im using a 4 channel amplifier on it so I was giving a thought of getting the Kenwood.

If I get the Alpine ill use an RC cable to connect the amplifiers Rear out to the Rear in connector and use the amplifier crossovers for the components and subwoofers for their respective output levels.

Just wondering if it'd be better if I use the 2 rca preout unit instead.

What happens when you need 3 RCA outputs?   You will have to get the alpine at that time.   Get the alpine now and be done with it.

He did say the Kenwood has 2 pair and the Alpine has 1 ;)

I'd still rather have the Alpine, and use y-cables!

What is the price difference between the 2? Maybe we can make some recommendations.

I sell both and I would get the Kenwood. In addition to the extra set of RCAs, You get an Aux input, Sat radio capability, Blue tooth add on , Changer controls. The Kenwood should be about $30 more.

For my pricing over here ... im getting the Alpine from a new Toyota Corolla (it comes factory fitted in it) for around 4000-5000rs. I already have one of these in my other car and I really like it.

I already am using the Kenwood which I got from a friend who used it barely for a couple of months.

That is around 80US$ or less so im getting quite a bargain on both deals.

I personally dont care about any of the extras like bluetooth blah blah, I need good quality sound.

@jmelton

I wont even need Y cables, the amplifier has a rear out and by simply plugging in that rear out to the rear in ... it works fine. Did that for a temporary fix (didnt have a good long enough RC cable) and it was arite.
