Ok the truck is a 2003 Trailblazer and the alarm is a AutoPage RS-727LCD. I used the 1700g bypass on it. Ok so here's what's going on. Truck remote starts fine, door locks work, so everything seems to be in order. What my concern is, is that when the truck is started (with key or r/s), and I open the drivers door, the message on the dash says Driver door ajar, then says Passenger door ajar, then left rear door ajar. The problem is only the drivers door is open. I don't know if it was doing this before I put the alarm in, it's my girlfriends car and she doesn't know either. So I'm wondering what could be the issue. I talked to help desk at diretechs and the tech sayed the 1700g shouldn't have anything to do with that. He told me to check my diodes to make sure their facing the right way. The door triggers are all hooked up to each door, diode isolated, and hooked directly to the alarm door trigger (-). The 1700G door trigger is not hooked up. I did have it hooked up to the alarm, but it only controlled the front doors and kept chirping as if a door was open due to the domelight delay, so rather than use the dome light for the rear doors and be annoyed by the 3 chirps due to domelight delay, I just got each door trigger, diode isolated them, and hooked them to the alarm. So what could be causing the messages on my alarm. Diodes are in the correct placement, because if I open the door, the alarm goes off. If I switch the diodes, then I open the door, the alarm does not go off. So the diodes are hooked up right, but I don't know why the truck seems to think that 3 doors are open when only the drivers door is open. I also tried hooking up the domelight to the positive door trigger on my alarm and disconnected my negative trigger which included the 4 diode isolated doors, and still had the same issue. So I'm not sure what the problem could be. The truck may have been doing this before I put the alarm in, but I'm not sure. Anyone have any ideas/suggestions??
And yes I check each wire with a DMM before making connections. I never hook up without testing and making sure I have the correct wire.
Thank you

Is the problem still there if you remove the 1700G module ?

Jeff, I unplugged the 1700G and the computer still did the same thing. I guess I know now it's definitely not a problem with the 1700g. The truck may have been doing this before, so it might not even be a related issue, but my gf just noticed it after I did the alarm. I never payed attention before and she didn't either so it may have been doing it before.
When I have the truck on and open the driver door, the dash says "driver door ajar", then switches after a few seconds to "passenger door ajar", then switches to "left rear door ajar". If I close it and go to the passenger side and open I get "passenger door ajar", and thats it. I go the the right rear door and open and get "right rear door ajar", then I get "passenger door ajar". Going to the left rear door, I get "left rear door ajar", then I get "passenger door ajar". So it's kinda weird. I guess I really shouldn't be concerned because it really has no effect on anything whatsoever. The alarm works perfect, the module is allowing for remote start and controlling the door locks as it should, so really I suppose I should not be concerned.
But being that this problem was noticed after the install and I have had other installers say they had problems with 1700's I just assumed the worst and thought maybe the 1700 was causing problems or something I did was. But I'm starting to think that this was probably happening before I even touched the car. But do you have any other ideas on what may have happened?? Ever seen this before??
It's probably been like this since we bought the car (bought it used from a dealership), but I just worried that maybe I caused the problem. But like I said, I checked and re-checked all my wires with my DMM and had diretechs as well as another wiring diagram to confirm that I had all my wires, and I did not ever tag a wire I was not supposed too. I was very careful with this. Thanks for your help and input, but like I said, have any other ideas??

I'm having a similar problem with the 1700G. Only, I just get the Driver side door ajar. Also, when I remote start, I get in my truck, and when I turn the key to "ON", tap the brake pedal , the interior lights come on, then dim, and the "driver's door ajar" message comes on". Definitely a 1700 problem in my truck (05 tahoe)

Where are your diodes located? Are they on the vehicle door trigger wires or on the wires coming from the rs/alarm? Reason I ask is that if they are on the vehicle wires and you are connected on the bcm side of the diode you would experience exactly what you are describing in the first post. Also if you flipped the diodes around you would get no signal because the diodes would be blocking it from both the alarm and the bcm.
You also said that you disconnected the - door trigger and you still had the problem. Did you just disconnect the wire from your alarm brain or did you disconnect all 4 diode isolated wires individually?

i was thinking the same. i dont think u diode isolated them properly. If u can trigger one door, then the others, the diode has been put the wrong way.
