I say definitely take it back to them. The owner of an independent shop should be pretty reasonable and should be willing to work with you. He's got more to lose than you do. Maybe even ask the owner or a manager to do it for you, that way it should def get done right.

I would say take vehicle back and ask for a manager. Tell them you want what you paid for in the first place, a working alarm that was supposed to be professionally installed. If not then go to another local shop (with MECP Certified techs) and have them do an estimate of the problem so you can get documentation of faulty work. Go back and tell them what the other shop found and don't name what shop, ask again for them to fix their work. If they refuse again then I would say I was going to file a small claim for repair and any other money you may be out due to this problem.
That type of faulty work makes me upset that dumb people are working on cars and don't have a clue. Like installers who twist and tape really get me ticked.

One MECP certified doesn't mean anything i had the unfortunate experience of working with them. Though there theory was there the prac app sux. As for the alarm send it to directed they will repare it. And please take pictures. Demand full refund
