Hi, everyone

Both of the following problems involve a '99 Ford F250, 2 door, extended cab and are VERY inconsistant.

1.      I periodically get a "door ajar" warning on the dash.  The doors are completely closed.  This indicator is not consistant about coming on.  Sometimes it is on, sometimes it is off.  Any suggestions?

2.      Also, the interior light (above seats) will stay on after starting the engine and will go off at about 10 MPH.  They will turn back on when I slow down under about 10 MPH.  Again, VERY inconsistant.

Neither of these occur all the time.

Thanks for any and all suggestions.

Lindell

It might be broken wires in door boots or the door pin switches themselves . . . I think.

BLACK/ Pink from driver's door.

BLACK / YELLOW for passenger door.

BLACK/ White for rear doors.

I'd cut one inside the vehicle and test to see if it resolves the issue. If not then cut the other and test again until we find the culprit.

Prepare your future. It wasn't the lack of stones that killed the stone age.

It could be the starting of a bad door switch. That turns the doom light on and the door ajar light on as will. You can pull on of them out and unhook one to see if it is that one or not. I would try both just to make sure. With them out you might find a bad wire or something. I had to do that in my mini van. So that is what I would try. Same problem with my 97 f150. That was a bad switch in the door. Hope this helps.
