And Hyundai originally relied on Mitsubishi technology. The i20 and i30 ranges sell very well here.
Out of interest, Daewoo went under a few years ago, GM took over and their cars were based on two generation old Euro Opel/Vauxhall, they also built the Pontiac Le Mans (Astra) in the early 80s
Nowadays Pontiac sells Australian built (Holden) GM product and Daewoo is sold in Europe as a Chevrolet! (Imagine all all those nice little cars plus Blazer and Corvette,at your Vauxhall dealer!
We all come across Hybrids, i.e. Mini, made in the old Austin/Morris/Rover factories,using Ford supplied panels, Chrysler (now Peugeot) engines and BMW wiring.
If I extended this post I could run to about 4000 words!
