So, this is my first time here on this site, I joined some months ago and I just now got around to actually log on. Let me start off by saying I think this site is very useful and much needed, in my time I could of only wished for something like this, let alone anything like the internet. I was what you would call a lead installer back in the late 80's early 90's, we had no internet or anywhere to find all this information. We had to figure it out on the spot, usually at the customers place of business or home, we were good at it, but then again the alarm systems were not that complicated. I hope I dont offend anyone with this, if I do I apologize in advance. The thing is that I made alot of stupid decisions that put me in prison for 17 years. I just got my freedom 9 months ago and I'm trying to get back into what I love. I have been looking into all these new systems with remote start and just the basic systems, wow, has it all changed. I just installed a basic Avital 3100lx in my 97 firebird, took me a minute to figure out the bypass function but I got it all in, except there seems to be some problem with my door trigger, it keeps setting off as if the door was opened and for some reason my door locks work fine when I first arm the system but after about 2 minutes I dissarm and no unlock, but once I open and close the door it works again but just for a few minutes then it wont unlock. I would really appreciate some insight here, thank you for all the info on the site.
