ok hello all, first time poster here so bare with me.  Well here i go.

My amp is doing stupid stuff right now, i have a Lightning audio b-350 2 channel amp and for the past couple of day's after a while my amp would turn off, so i would turn my cd player off for about 3 seconds than turn it on and it worked fine for a little bit again than did it again.  Well this morning it did it again and i did what i normally did but the amp did not kick on!!!  Well i checked the 2 fuses and they were blown so i changed those but now the amp will turn on but my protect light will come on once there is bass.  I am wondering what is going on???  I checked my power wire, its kinda cruddy in there but it is in so i dont know, and i also have a cooling fan thing to.    And for the record, i am not very good at fixing car audio stuff so if it is something stupid it would not suprise me so if anybody could help me i would be very greatful...  Thanx if anybody can help

well, you are providing no info that would allow us to help you troubleshoot. i need to know what the amp is powering, what gauge the powrer/ground is. What the power and ground are hooked up to. how many channels is the amp and if the woofers or speakers are hooked up to it in mono or stereo. I know im forgeting so stuff but provide this and we can go from there.

Very little information to go on but it sounds like you have a blown voice coil in your sub.  Disconnect your subs and see if that lets your system come out of protect mode.

Could be a ground problem. Where do you have it grounded, and what gauge is the wire?

I think you either blew your speakers out but according to what it did to begin with which was turning off every so often I think you blew the outputs in your amp. its one of the two if your power, ground and remote are wired right.

If you know absolutly nothing about car audio best not to go messing around with the amp...If it is poping fuses and showing protection light...It would be wise to eat it and go to a car audio shop and let a pro look at it...

He/She will be able to trouble shoot the prob and give it the proper remedy.....

But they are right...There is a lot that this prob could be...So let someone who knows look at it...
