My current urge for Nak gear led to me e-mailing Nak for item availability and this is what I got in return, after two weeks or so. I apologize if this was already covered but I thought this was more current.

Dear Sir,

Thank you for your email to Nakamichi.
Currently, we are in the process of identifying a suitable partner in
USA to
represent Nakamichi (I.C.E - In-Car Entertainment products)in the
country so
we are not able to get you any partners contact yet. We hope to secure
the
distributorship by July 2005. Once this is done, we will inform you on
the
contact details immediately.
We apologize for any inconvenience caused.
Best regards,
Nakamichi Sales

I recieved similar information from NAKUSA, the distributor that is being replaced, though they do have a couple units available, the MB VI HU, PA-2004 amplifier, and I don't remember the number of the changer. They are trying to get rid of these at pretty good prices right now. We weren't interested in these products, as we have too many PA-2004's on hand right now. but that's the only thing available.

I wanted a CD500 for my personal vehicle, but I have resorted to a fun comparison, I have acquired a Rockford Fosgate RFX 8250, built by Denon, and am getting ready to run an A/B test with a CD700II, for fun and games, but very tempted to remove the RF screenprint ( greatly increases the SQ ) and install it in my vehicle. We'll see what the test results reveal. I have heard alot of good about the RF HU's though.

I remember your previous thread, in reference to the a/b comparison. Please do post your results as I am interested to know what you come up with.
I was in search of a Nak deck, either the 400 or 500 but gave up and went with an Eclipse, which s**ts all over the Alpine as far as CD sound. That Alpine reminds me of a tin can.(Meanwhile I am trying to sell it here).
But my money is still on the Nak. What did Nak quote you on the cost of the PA 2004?

Had to rub it in there, eh Rob???

I should've thought of getting in touch with you to get a CD500, but too late now, have the new unit already, going to have some fun with it. Then going to either install it in my truck or resell, depending on results. I may still contact you about a CD500.
