hi. im having a real hard time putting a jvc deck into my friends 93 probe. after about 3 hours of messing around with the wrong wiring diagram(thanks installdr.com), and a crappy voltage tester, i have finally found my power. i hook the powers and the ground. face plate will lite up right away, but then shuts off after a couple of seconds. same when starting the car. is there something im missing. ive installed many decks and neve3r had a problem like this.

please help someone

Sounds like bad ground, check your ground, and make a new one if needed.

I agree check the ground.

one time I had accidently jooked up a wire that I thaught was a ground but turned out to be the dimmer..

this wire will always show ground until to turn on the lights and then it will turn positive. Maybe thats your problem....

that is a good point that I always do just to be safe is to turn on the interior dimmer light as well as turn on the head lights when probing wires.
