Hey all, one of our techs had one of his Sentry keys go missing a few months ago - this is a 2003 PT Cruiser.  Now he wants to add a new second key (for wife who lost original).  He will also add a remote start with bypass this fall.  His dealer has told him it will cost quite a bit to program the new key and he is wondering if he can do it himself.  I did a bit of searching but couldn't find any info.

Thanks in advance.

If he only has the one key then he will need to have the second key programmed at the dealership.  Once he again has two keys he can program a bypass module for a remote start.

sorry to hijack, but my wife just bought a 2006 liberty, and i asked the parts guy if I got a new unprogrammed chipped key if i could program it myself (10sec with 1st key, 10sec. with 2nd key, red light comes on, insert unprogrammed key to become programmed). He told me that this does not work on teh newer chryslers. Is he feeding me a line of crap, or is it true?
