what kind of tape do you guys use? I've tried a whole bunch, scotch 33+ electrical tape, vinyl tape, even "engine harness tape" for use in the engine bay.
Seems most tapes start to peel slightly at the cut off edge from the excessive heat, especially in the engine bay. While the whole thing does not unravel, its annoying when I see the edge peeled off a bit.
What I do now is put a tiny little drop of super glue where I end the tape. Never had any problems from it, although sometimes I do get a little super glue on my fingers which is annoying.electrical tape -- posted image.

I will only use Scotch 33+ in a car.  How are you cutting the tape?  If you are using scissors you shouldn't get any edge peel.  If you are violently tearing the tape you will get edge peel, as you are streching the tape beyond the ability of the adhesive.  If you are ripping the tape smoothly and wrapping it tight all should be well.

Yeah 33+ is hands down the best tape on the market. My shop(circuit city) stopped us from ordering it through them, so instead of using thier semi decent tape, I go out and buy my own 33+ tape for R/S, Alarms.

For all these years i thought it was just from the oil and sweat on my fingers,Never even thought about cutting it, as tearing is fastest method. lol

I live in fort st. john bc, we use Scotch Super 88, works great even in -40C.

More expensive, but the tape is still good years after with big temperature changes.

The shop I work for gets the 3M 1700 tape but I would rather use the 33+. It is $3 to $4 per roll so I would need to find a wholesaler to get a deal.

Scotch 3M Super 33 and 88. I'd rather use bubble gum than to use any other tape.
