I am having a hard time locating the vss wire and color on my 1997 GMC 1500 Z-71. Any information would be a big help.

The kick panel. Would this be inside the truck, under the dashboard where the gas and brake pedals are located? Or would this be located in the engine compartment, looking at the engine on the right side? The reason I ask, is that I could not find a black 24 pin connector under the dash. I did find a 24 pin connector (black) inside the engine compartment connected to the vcm. Could this be it? Thank You.

Quite simply go to the OE Cruise plug that is right next to the Power brake booster at the firewall, of course engine side.

Its GREEN / WHITE in Position K
