Hey folks,

I'm tring to install an Audiovox CCS100 Universal Vacuum Cruise Control w/ Dash Mounted Control Switch & Magnet Kit into a 2002 Ford Windstar.

The installation instructions are decent, at best.

One step that is causing me grief is tapping into the tachometer.

I understand that the tach wire is dark blue/light green and located at the coil modual.

Great. But how in the name of all that is holy do I tap into a wire that I can hardly even see?

Is there another location that I can tap into?

Does anyone have any clear photos of this wiring?

There is a triple coil pack on the driver side of the engine. For tach use any of the following wires: pink/white, RED / lt blue, or blue/lt green.

If it's a hard time getting that wire on the coil pack and believe me it is. You can go to the PCM it's located on the passenger side coming through the fire wall. The harness plug is on the engine side. There is 104 pin connector going into it. It will be pin number 78 in that 104 pin connector.

I'll take all the information I can gather.

During the last 2 weeks, I've put about 3000 hwy miles on this beast and my foot/leg are killing me.

In the installation instructions, it stated that I had to use the magnets because the van does not have a VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor) to plug into. Does anyone know if there is any truth to this?

Yes its true if you are using a CCS-100. You have tou use magnets. The reason why is the vss pulse is 18000 and that CCS-100 can only go up to 8000 pulses.
