Hi all people. I´m installing an Audiovox CCS100 cruise control in my Toyota Turbo Diesel Land Cruiser manual transmission, year 1995. Wiring ok as per instructions, jumper off for manual transmission, tach signal only. Tach signal seems to be very weak and dont work in the CCS unit. Somebody can tell me how much strenght must this signal be to work with the CCS? Blue wire to tach signal and doesnt work. Seems that I need to boost signal but I dont know how much. Thaughts???

Another inquiry.... Does someone know WHY not to connect vacuum hose to main vacuum hose running to power brake. Audiovox says NOT to connect to power brake but not says WHY. Seems not to be a problem to connect vacuum hose in the main power brake hose.... Thoughts???

Hi Piero

On diesels there is not a lot of vacuum available for the CCS. You should have a vacuum pump, usually driven by the fan belt, where you could find enough vacuum.

The tach signal should be a couple of volts high, usually goes to 5 volts or even 12volts. Not too sure about the tach on a diesel though - it is usually provided by the electronic ignition/distributor on gasoline cars.

Hope you come right!
