anybody have any ideas about this problem.

I put an audiovox electric cruise in a 2000 dakota after i was done the speedometer didnt work.  When i disconnected the wire from the vss signal it worked again.  I tried a different unit same problem.  It seems the unit has a trace ground on the vss input wire which affects the vehicle computer.  Has anybody came across this problem?  the wire i used is WHITE/ orange at the pcm pin 27.  Any help would be great thanks.

I have run into a similar problem once on a Ford Escort. The speedo quit working and the cruise control also did not work. It was an install error. The VSS wire was pinched and grounded. In my case I repaired the wire and everything worked fine.

I am gonna assume that the cruise control also does not work
