1987 rx7 with 89 swap vss

so im going through this site, and found that the 87 had no VSS, but mine had cruise control, and basically my eclipse sees the speed, but doesnt work normally, and it constantly says studying pulse and check speed pulse... the 89 says there is one, but where does this wire route back to? somewhere on the engine? tranny? any way to replicate this signal because im running the 89 motor?

VSS typically doesn't come from the motor, as speed has no correlation to RPM.  VSS can come from two places - the wheels or the output shaft of the tranny.

You would need to find out where the 89 gets this pulse from, and then try to duplicate it.  Or, you could attach some magnets to your output shaft and be done with it.

hmmm... anyone know where the 89 get its pulse? i've searched the rx7 forums and come up with not much...
