Looking for junior telematics technicians based out of locations across the USA. Permanent and contract positions available, ($18 to $22 per hour).
If you want to be part of this growing market and learn how to install and repair telematics systems that will allow you to build a career as a telematics technician, then this might just be the opportunity you have been waiting for.
Vehicle telematics includes technologies such as:
•     GPS tracking devices.
•     Electronic Logging Devices (touchscreen devices used by drivers to log driving hours).
•     Fleet Management Devices: GSM and satellite enabled data recording devices that monitor vehicle usage, and send data recorded by various inputs back to a portal where customers can access it.
Responsibilities
•     Perform maintenance, and installation of telematics devices at customer locations throughout the USA.
•     Work with Schedulers and Customers to schedule work and plan routes.
•     Maintain a high quality of work and ensure customer satisfaction.
•     Ensure assigned jobs are completed within the desired time frame.
•     Ensure all administrative functions are completed timeously: Expense claims, updating schedules, closing job cards.
•     Manage assigned inventory.
Qualifications
•     Ability to travel extensively: You will be required to travel to customer locations to perform scheduled jobs. Some locations might be close to your home base; however, many locations could be a couple of hours away and might require you to be away from home for extended periods of time.
•     Automotive Repair Experience: Some experience and knowledge working on motor vehicles is advantageous. Specifically taking dashboards apart, and working on the electrical systems, or performing installations of accessories like, car audio, security, GPS tracking, remote start, or cruise control systems.
•     Technical Skills:
o     Hand Tools: Experience working with hand tools, and electrical tools is required.
o     Soldering: Knowing how to correctly solder, and insulate electrical connections is advantageous.
o     Multi-Meters: Experience working with multi-meter, and knowing how to measure voltage, resistance, and current flow is advantageous.
o     Safety: Understanding safety protocols when working with tools and motor vehicles.
o     Analytical skills: Good at troubleshooting and solving problems. Ability to learn and understand new technologies quickly.
o     Computer skills: Well versed in working with computers, installing software, drivers, working with spreadsheets, email, internet etc.
•     Excellent Communication: You will be working directly with customers and therefore excellent communications skills (English), and a professional conduct is required (both written and spoken).
•     Self-Driven: You will be working on your own most of the time, and therefore you have to be self-motivated, and driven to complete all assigned tasks and ensure a high quality of workmanship. Related qualities are: Integrity, trustworthy, professional, and honesty.
Technicians are required in the following regions:
•     North-East Region (PA, OH, WV, NC)
•     Northern Region (ND, WY)
•     Central Region (CO, KA, OK, Central and West TX, NM)
•     Western Region (CA)
•     Southern Region (FL, LA, South Texas)
