another problem I have a question with is the box in the middle of my console is for a 10 jl and in close proximity inside the truck is a silver box that says vehicle restraint does any body know what this is and if it will be affected by the vibrations?

what that box is, is a sensor that can tell if the truck is in a rollover. if so the seat belts lock up so that no slack comes out of them. if you unplug it, they will lock up on you so it has to be plugged in. i dont know if the sub will affect it. the way i understand it, it works on if the vehicle is upside down or tilted past a certain degree, not vibration. MIKVOT will know the answer. maybe pm him and ask him to read this thread.

If it has a yellow connector, its1 of the air bag control modules. Just because it say restraint doesn't mean its just the seat belts although what the last guy said is true. If the car is in an accident, the seat belts will tighten and lock. Just take the mounting nuts off, dynomat under the module, reinstall module, and dynomat the module itself. There's really nothing else you could do. Excess vibration could damage the module. It could cause small welds inside to separate.

Everything runs through that module. Basically the impact sensors send a signal to that module which in turn, can tell the airbags to deploy, as well as tension the seatbelts during a roll over. Since I am no longer in the audio side of the business, I know longer have to worry about these kinds of things.....so I got my info from the next best place. A Ford technician. From what I understand, there are no sensors inside the module. That is just the brain, and all sensors are external. I would definately try to and absorb as much of the vibration as possible. Dynamat, as mentioned above. Maybe build an enclose around it if possible .
