A high quality birch or oak ply would be the plywood of choice. You dont want knots. MDF would be much cheaper and just as strong. I always use MDF unless it is going to be stained for a wood look. Make sure to glue your seemes and joints. Elmers wood glue is good. I like f-26 or liquid nail. Others here like gorilla glue. Use a little extra or some caulk on the inside seams to ensure it is air tight and remember bracing is your friend. A strong enclosure is a happy enclosure.

Birch ply is twice as stiff as MDF, if two identically sized sub boxes were fabricated, one from 3/4in MDF and the other from 3/4in birch ply, the MDF box would flex twice as much as the birch ply box.

Not with the way i brace. My enclosures don't flex :). Yes birch is a bit stiffer, but also WAY more expensive. I can double layer 3/4 MDF for the price or less then the price of birch, then add bracing on top of that and its a no brainer, if covering it stick to MDF.

Thank you all for ur advice.I went to my local lumberyard to get a sheet of mdf but was told they did not carry mdf that he only carried high density so that's what I got and guys to my surprise the box turned out great and we put a db meter inside ny jeep and the highest it hit was 146 my Windows look like they are flexing out a 1/2 when it hits.but I missed one piece of advice from Mr reed.BRACING lol didn't put any in it so I'm going to build another one and do it right this time.how do I post pics on here from my smartphone,I want u guys to see it and tell me what I could do better.

High density is even better than MDF(medium density fiber board) Just more expensive. What size enclosure did you go with?
As for posting pics from a smartphone i have no idea. I always upload to my photobucket account.
