Hey guys.

I was wondering if any of you know how to create a fiberglass mold in the trunk, making it perfectly flush all around the edges? Do I have to remove the rubber weather strip all around? If I do have to remove it, once I stretch the fleece and lay the resin on it, how will I be able to put back the weather strip once it's time to install it along with the fiberglass mold? Won't the fiberglass mold take up the space where that weather strip is and thus not make it fit properly anymore?

I am very confused by all this. I would appreciate if one of you can point me in the right direction.

Thanks.

take weather stripping off, tape over the lip, fiber glass over and under the lip(so that you can put the weather stripping back on. Then you can pick up your project underneath the stripping(the fiberglass)

That sounds goood. I am just worried about it not fitting under the weatherstrip afterwards.

You can always get new weather stripping if it won't fit. There are many different types and one of them would have to work for your application.

Well I think what you should do is glass that and then cut off the excess that goes under the weatherstripping with a dremel. Or whatever you use to cut yours with.  Just cut it to match exactly like you want it, check out this site he has a couple cars that he glasses just like your talking about. www.hzemall.com go to the gallery.

Yeah I checked out hzemall.com and it's a very cool site. I think I will try like you suggested and cut off the excess parts with my dremel.
