I have been lurking and reading on this list for a month or so. I like this forum and it's moderators and have learned enough to at least try a box.
This enclosure will fit between the seats and against the back wall of a regular cab truck.
Sub is an Orion 'Hz Bass' 15 incher 1k watt. I plan on mounting it magnet-out and have holes for leads coming up through MDF at bottom of speaker ring to terminal cup in back.
Will begin glassing tonight unless anyone sees any problems I might fix or improve first.

that install looks great so far!
What are the plans for the enclosure, paint or some kind of material?

Okay, I put on two layers of fiberglass last night.
Is this surface too rough? Is there some additive or method to make it end up smoother? Seems like that would cut down on a lot of Bondo and sanding time.
After I put on four more layers, I will try getting it smooth enough to paint flat black. If I don't get a nice finish then I plan to cover it in black vinyl.

First off I like the nice clean install.   The enclosure  is coming along real nice.  Keep us posted with lots of pic's, we love pic's here.  Also FG is like a drug, becasue the better you get at it the more you want to do it.

When you put on the other layers of fiberglass try to avoid getting fiberglass and resin into the countersunk part where the speaker goes. In your first set of pictures it looks like the sub fits real tight. In your most recent pictures it looks like you laid the fiberglass so that it wrapped over the top and down into where the sub goes. That is going to make a lot of unnecessary sanding for you to get the sub to fit again. Other than that I would say you are on the right track.

How you gonna get that bracing out? Won't it rub on the surround?

i was just thinking about that, looks like the bracing is gonig to make it a 4-chamber enclosure! on the roughness issue, i think it's ok, you're just gonna need to spend some time sanding and aplying bondo... it's all fun tho!!!first sub box pix -- posted image.
