Ok, I'm reading these posts and keep hearing people talking about using a "hot batch".  What does the heat do and does it really matter? What’s a hot batch? -- posted image. Sorry if this ? has been asked before.

I assume they're talking about a mix of body filler or fiber glass resin that has alot of hardner mixed in.
Tell the Snap-On guy I'm not here!

That is what I would assume as well. It hardens quickly and gets physically hot.
If this doesn't sound correct then give us an example of how you heard it.

ok so I guess the term comes from when the mix starts to harden and the reaction creates heat. that sounds about right. thanksWhat’s a hot batch? -- posted image.

Thats correct. If you use too much hardener not only will it set up quicker and get hot, but it may also crack, warp, or be rather brittle. Those are the main reasons besides working time that you do not want a hot batch.
