Hi Guys, I'm from Croatia , and new to fiberglassing...this forum has been very helpfull, but I have some problems understanding some terms you use...i have understanded the procedure for fiberglassing, but part when you all say, sand, bondo, sand, bondo...I dont understand...I know what is sanding, but what is bondo?? Is it some other material that is put on fiberglass to even the surface? something like the material for patching holes in walls etc.(we call it GIT)?
For my first project I will attempt to do a spoiler just like one on the picture for my Alfa 146, what are your thoughts on this?

Bondo is a brand name ( much like Kleenex or Band-Aid ) and is body filler. It's used to smooth out the surface and fill imperfections.

And although everyone says bondo, bondo is just about the lowest quality body filler you can use.  Try Rage Gold, or something of that nature.

Yea, Bondo is a generic term used to describe body filler. Since Bondo, although cheap is very popular, many people use the word as a name instead of a brand. Kind of like how people will call a copy or copies of a sheet of paper a "xerox" since Xerox was one of the first manufacturers of copier machines.
I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work.
When you do not know what you are doing and what you are doing is the best -- that is inspiration.
