How do i go about making my old box look nice and shiny like fiberglassed boxes without using fiberglass. I want to update my old box -- posted image.

Would a simple primer, paint and clear coat work.

Is the box carpeted now ? If so you would need to remove the carpet. Sand down the box to MDF and then you can use a polyester primer to build up the MDF. Take into consideration that the MDF will soak up alot of primer but you will be able to sand down the primer and then paint.

yeah it has carpet, so whats a polyester primer.
