i need a few rings for my 6 x 9s, and am slightly intimidated by trying to make them. aside from making a jig that i'm not even sure how to make, i can't imagine a good way to make them.
thoughts? i'd like to think about just buying them flat out and then putting them into my project.

Did they not come with a template in the box?     If not you can just start by cutting it out of posterboard. The stuff you used in school to put your projects on.   Cut it out with scissors and keep putting it onto the speaker and checking your cuts until you get the hole good and snug on mounting portion of the speaker. Once you get that you can just trace your hole onto the mdf.

Actually I read while searching for you that they actually can be shaped different. So not all 6x9's are the same unfortunately.
