1993 Toyota Pickup courtesy/rock lights?

Hey guys new member here. Hopefully with a fairly simple question. What I’m wanting to do is wire up a pair of rock lights that will come on and shut off with my interior lights when I open/close my door. My truck is lifted on 35’s so being able to see what you’re stepping on can be quite helpful 😂. I don’t need the lights to be wired to an independent switch for turning them on when the door isn’t open, this will strictly be for getting in and out of the vehicle. So my original thought was perhaps simply splicing the power wire into the positive wire on the door switch to activate them. But knowing there’s probably a better way I ended up here. So while I was looking at LED rock lights simply because they have a flood style pattern and will be already waterproof if someone has a suggestion on other lights that would work I’m all ears. Thanks for the help!

you would need to wire the power source for the lights to the battery or somewhere else and use a relay connected to the door switch to trigger them and turn the lights on. the switch itself will not have the needed power to run them. it's just designed to send a signal to trigger other components in the vehicle.

Is there a light on the inside of the door panel?

Would I need to run 2 relays? Or just one relay turn the lights on no matter which door was opened?

Nope no power to the door at all 😂. Manual windows and door locks. Which I’m ok with. Makes it easier when I swap out tube doors and back and forth.
