I got these generic headlights and tailights that have halos made of LED's. The LED halos have distinct wires. Currently, the halos are wired into the foglights so they come on with the foglight switch.
I am wondering how to install a switch that turns on the halos only. I can wire all of them to a switch with a fuse but how do I do that? Do I need fuses for each halo?
Where do I tap the power from without breaking something? How do I wire a switch in? Does a switch have a + and - side or does it sit on either pisitive/negative wire to disrupt current?
I have a battery kill switch that uses a separate key. I have my radio wired 'hot' to it and a few other things. Is a fuse enough to not blow anything up?

run the 12v from the halos to the inside of the car. tap an ignition switched 12v and and put a toggle switch between it. the wire should be fused close to the source of power. you can put a fuse on each of them independantly because being low current the probably pull 1amp or less each.  but personally i used to have those on a civic years ago and i would just parrallel it in with the lights because its pointless to have them independant. and they burn out fast.

Ok. I wired them separate from the lights with a switch. It doesn't look too bad to have just the halos on in the front and back.
My goal is to hook up a micro-controller (I can wire a pic micro but I am horrible at car wiring...)so I can program each led to flash and make them 'chase' in circular patterns and such. Original ideas win car shows.

you would have to tap into each LED indiviidually but to do that you have to crack apart the headlight i believe. im more for the jdm look.
