Hey guys,

I got a brand new set of 12" CRV kicker subs with a kicker amp it came with, for a package deal. I hooked it up using the line out converter on the amp, since my head unit doesnt have preouts. So i tapped into the rear speakers to get a signal, and for a while it worked. Then a few times I would rewire it, just to get it to sound perfect. Now for some reason, If i turn the bass up loud or decently loud, I can hear like the subs pop, or the box rattle when it hits. I checked the ground its fine, and none of the wires between the subs/amp are wired wrong. Now I think my headunit might be wired wrong, (the + and - leads for the speakers are backwards I think). Can that be the reason for the popping? Or is it something else? I hope I didnt blow them, i didnt turn them up loud enough too and they're pretty brand new. It really sounds like its coming from the subs too.

What is the model # of the amp? The subs?

I think your amp is clipping. -The gain is set too high.

Whether they came as a package or not, my guess is that something is NOT COMPATIBLE. Is the enclosure vented? That's where I'd look first - it's probably tuned wrong. THEN I would look at the amplifier...
Now, if you know where the level pops the woofers (which, BTW is the speakers parts "banging against the stops" - and it will destroy them in VERY short order...) don't go that loud. That's all there is to it.
Fix your setup, soon, or you are going to break something.
It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

Its not even that my gains set too high, because even if I adjust it lower I can barley hear any of the bass, but when I set it nice and just right i hear it hit and then that loud THUMP when it hits, like the box is rattling. I got the Kicker DCVR12 Dual 12" Enclosed Subwoofers and a Kicker ZX300.1 Class A/B 300W RMS Mono Amplifier.

Yeah but honestly it does it  when its not even that high up. Does it sound likes somethings crossed? I mean, I checked the amp and box wiring over and over and its fine, so now Im rewiring my headunit, thinking I wired the +/-'s wrong to my speakers from the hu, and since its tapping off the speaker signals, it could be throwin the subs off.

I did, I checked everything. Yes, it is vented. Im thinking its my headunt, its a $70 sony xplod CDX-GT11W, with only 50x4 (200 watts) putting out.

Dude... I am here to tell you right now that it is NOT your head unit. The box is incorrectly built and/or tuned for those woofers.
You are going to destroy your woofers in very short order. Get them out of the enclosure they are in, and build a proper box! SOON!
