Hey all, Im new to 12volt and hoping to resolve my problem.
My problem is that when im listening to music the amp will just turn off. From ether one of two reasons, a fuse on the amplifier is blown, or the amp will simply turn off, and turn on again when I start the car next.(also I have noticed the amp gets hot enough to fry an egg on sometimes)
I have the subs wired at 1 Ohm, and the amp set to the lowest hertz, and on low pass filter.
Anyone have any idea what could be going on?
Here are the details:
I have a 1996 Toyota Camry Collectors edition
     two 12" Diamond Audio D1's.

     Rockford P550.2 Amp

     2006 Model Kenwood Deck
And 4 Gauge power and ground wire.
Thanks A Ton,
Gage

you can't run that amp at a 1 ohm load.  That is a 2 channel and can be ran at 4 ohm bridged, 2 ohm stereo, or 4 ohm stereo.  With running it at a 1 ohm load you are causing the amp to go into protection.

If you have it setup for a 1 ohm at the moment then I am guessing you have dual 4 ohm coils in which case your gonna run it like

I didn't personally do the wiring, I had a friend do it. So im not exactly sure what he did to even wire it at 1Ohm.(and yes the subs are 4Ohm Dual Voice Coil)
So my next question is how can i wire it to be 550W x 1 @ 4-Ohms bridged RMS like it recommends on rockfords website?
