I am wondering about amp strapping.  i have heard about it but i do not know very much about it. i currently have one kenwood excelon kac-x812d amplifier and i ahve another one being shipped to me right now. I  want to run the amps with 2 pioneer premier 12" ts-3004 spl's which are dual 4 ohm subs 3000 watt max, 1000 watt RMS a peice.

I dont believe that the kenwood amp u listed has a master/slave controls.....

read over the manual and did not see anything though i could be wrong

why not just run a amp to each sub.... cause u have to right ?

would work out perfect being that the kenwood will put out 8-900 rms @ 2ohms

each failure, then we can improve ourselves

I can't seem to find much info on that amp.  Is it strappable?     If an amp is 1 ohm stable, it's minimum strapped impedance is going to be 2 Ohms.  If it is strappable you do not have the proper speakers to do it.

does not have a option to make it a master or a slave amp

Alright i was not sure and i am pretty sure it can have a slave amp becasue i read something about it in the manual but if you say the lowest impedance will be 2 ohms i wouldnt want that anyway. thank you for the posts.

Effectively, "strapping" does electrically the same thing as "bridging" does inside a stereo amplifier. It references the negative voltage rails of the two different amplifiers, and then inverts one of the positive input signals, allowing the load (the speaker) to be connected across the positive voltage rails.
There is a bit more to it than that, but that's the jist of it.
It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."
