I want a system but no subs. I want to get some good speakers that provide all ranges of sound. I might get JL or JBL with a 4 ch amp... Will it be ok? I just do not want amp and sub combo since it take too much space. I also want to change the headunit. I got a pioneer 2900 from my last car that works fine, but I would want something without CD... maybe only SD card.

If your budget permits it, I suggest Maxxbass 103. Check out ebay for deals. Although it's not a substitute for good speakers, you won't be sorry.

Both Orion and PPI licenced the technology for a while.

Nope, sorry, I don't make a cent on that one want a system but no subs -- posted image.

I picked up the Orion Maxxbass for 60 bucks on a deal despite the fact that I have a pair of A/D/S 346cs for my front stage driven by an Orion HP2600. It turned great into greater by bringing some of the bass up front.

You mentioned you wanted good sound without a sub in the trunk. Just adding my 2 cents and 25 years experience. Take it or leave it ......makes no never-mind to me.

I have never dealt with any speakers other than Earthquake. I totally love Earthquake products. My fiance has my old Earthquake 4X6 and 6X9's in her car. I have the newer ones running off a 600 watt 4 channel Earthquake amp. They are very loud, clean, and all their speakers can handle the bass also. Just thought you might want to look into them. Also, just so you know, it is possible to get a sub withough losing your trunk space. My fiance has a 12" Earthquake DBX in her car. The sub is in a ported box which I made and her amp is mounted to the side of it. She still has enough room to put in some blankets, her foldable chair, and groceries without a problem. Just thought Id let you know just incase.

Hey thats ok. Not everyone likes the big bass that annoy the neighbors. I really like Earthquake though. I have my earthquake speakers hooked to a 4 channel amp and they are awesome. My fiance has my old Earthquake speakers in her car without an amp and they sound great. You can max out the bass on your headunit and they sound great. Heres the website if you want to look at their stuff: www.earthquakesound.com      Dont go crazy when you see their prices. Thats not how much you pay for if you go to one of their dealers. Plus, if you were to get some Earthquakes, make sure you get them from an authorized dealer. If you buy them off ebay or any unauthorized dealer or website, the company wont give you your warrenty. Let me just give you an idea of how poerful these things off. My first set of speakers were 6X9 Earthquakes and the one was alittle flacky and wasnt making contact all the time. But when I took it to the dealer that I bought them from, ofcource they worked when he checked them. So I took it back home and tried to fry it. The speaker I think can handle 300 watts. So I bridged it on my 1600 watt 2 channel (not a true 1600) and all it did was smoke it, never blew it. It just so happens that I took it back to the dealer he smelled the burnt and gave me a brand new one without any problems. Other than that problem, I have not bad to replace any of my speakers, subs, amp, or my fiance's stuff.
