I got the wiring for my 96 Deville and I was told that their I will need to purchase a modulator

to get the stearing wheel controles to work. Is this true? And if it is where can I get one and

is the wiring I got for the radio the same as for the modulator?

no. what kind of radio did you get? look into a PESWIX or the brand specific (i.e.- PESWIPS for a pioneer or sony radio). your new radio must be cable of having a wireless remote for the PESWIX. or have the remote input on the back of the radio for a pioneer or sony. link below:

If I dont want to get an peswix and just wire the radio without any adaptor  will everything work? I mean exept the stearing wheel controles
