Can I have some opinions on Diamond Audio subs? I was going to purchase some JL's from my local shop, but they said that their only comparable sub would be a Diamond Audio sub. And as a matter of fact, he said they sound the same, if not better.. and are alot cheaper.

Anyone have any experience with these subs? A part of me is thinking that he is simply feeding me this crap because he doesn't want me to buy elsewhere. Then again, I don't know.. because I've known him a while, and he wouldn't do me wrong (or so I think)

Any suggestions?

I started off with a JL Audio 10W6V2D4 subwoofer and loved it. After a while, though, the surround tore and JL basically wanted close to $200 to fix it so I said screw it.
Up to that point I had heard good things about Diamond Audio so I decided to give one of their subs a try. I went with a D610D4 and I have to say that I was very impressed with it. I thought it sounded just as good, if not better, than the JL W6 I previously had.
I recently upgraded to a D910D4 and have been pretty happy with the sub overall. I didn't build a very good enclosure though, so I can't truly rate that subwoofer yet. However, based on my past experience with a diamond audio subwoofer, I expect to have great results when I get a new enclosure constructed at the end of this summer.
Summary: I would definitely recommend a diamond subwoofer. I seriously doubt you will be disappointed.

thanks for your advice.

Yea, because of my trunk space in my 350z, I can basically only fit 2 10"s in it. I asked around today, and like you.. people praise the Diamond Subs over JL.

Also, I have been told that I should power both subs with a Crossfire VR1000D. Are those good amps? Should I get two to power each sub?, or one to power both if I went the Crossfire route?

Thanks again.

I don't know anything about that amp. I'm sure someone else will help you out, but it will make it much easier if you let us know what model of the 10" woofers you're going to go with. ie. D610, D310, etc.

well, being they no longer make a D9, I am going to go with the Hex Pro HP-10.

Those hex-pro subs look identical to my D9 and have the same power rating as well. If it was me in your shoes and I had the money, I'd bet two of those woofers would sound really nice with a D6 1200.1 amplifier.
