Just installed a Memphis Belle MCH1300 having problems with the sub channel shutting off and on. Plus this thing gets hot fast even at moderate sound levels.  Have it pushing 2 JL Audio 10W6V2 at 1 ohm., other channels are running JL ZR seperates at 4 ohm. Head unit is a Eclispe CD5000.

Anyone have any clues what might be causing these problems., and how to fix them?

The subwoofer channel on the 16-MCH1300 is one-ohm stable, but you have to be very careful setting the gain.  It works a LOT better at 2-ohms or higher.  Plus, this has to be a used amp, so how certain are you that it's in good shape?

I never had this problem when running my old Soundstream Referance 700sx amp back in the day at 1ohm , it would pound all day at high volume and never over heat. . Why do you think its used? Looked new to me when I opened the box, it came in.  Bought it online from WoofersEtc. They looked legit.

Every amp works differently.  Be very careful setting the gain properly.  The Memphis amp has not been made since 2006 AFAIK.  WoofersETC is NOT an authorized dealer, so they might be selling refurb gear.

My bet is that the amp is a refurb as well. I would send it right back to them and pick a amp up from a legit retailer. Legit meaning that you will have to go to a store and purchase it as the line is not available on the net.

Top Secret, I can tell you but then my wife will kill me.
