hello, i'm trying to upgrade the factory amp and subwoofer i my '00 Tahoe.  i want to keep the factory head unit, but i want to add a modulator to run rca's to the new amp.  can anyone assist me with which wires to hook up to, or link me to old posts?  i've been lookin fo like an hour now

Remove the woofer from the enclosure, there should be 2 sets of wires going to the woofer.  Each pair of wires has a wire with a black stripe on it.  That is the negative wire of that pair.  Purchase a simple Line Out Converter, wire it to those wires and run the RCA cable from there to your new amp.  If there is only one set of wires going to the woofer, wire both the grey and white pairs of wires of the LOC to the set of wires that went to the woofer.

cool, thanx.  but do you know which wire is the remote wire from the hu?
