I have an 04 Silverado with the bose system, on star, steering controls, etc. I purchased the factory radio for the center console to give the rear passengers audio controls. I went to install the unit, but there was no wire harness in the hole to plug into the back of the rear control unit.

1. Is the plug in there I just need to find it?

2. Is there no plug and I need to hard wire it in? If this is the case, I assume I would find a factory plug with wires still on it and then hard wire it into the harness that is around the amp?

3. Will my bright idea no work and does the truck.console have to be pre-wired for the rear passenger controls.

Your console has to have the wiring already installed.  If it's not at the factory rear control location, then you'll need to purchase the harness from your local GM dealer or snag one out of a Pull-n-Save.

Do I need the entire harness, or just the jack that plugs into the rear controls and then tap the other harness for audio and power? Or do you mean completely remove may consoel and pull the harness then replace it with a factory installed harness that has rear control? Also can you confirm that it will plug in?
