I just picked up a brand new in box rf t3002 from a friend who had purchased it with asspirations of building a system and never got around to buying subs.  He purchased this amp from best buy so im sure it is a mediocre at best, entry level amp. But Ive been reading a few reviews online about it and people are comparing it to the old punch 40 dsm's.........  Saying it is rated at 50w at 4 ohm by two, but actually produces around 300w @ 2ohm by two? Is there any truth to this ?

I was planning on running my 6x9's boston sx series with this amp. But if it is actually that powerfull that might not be the best plan. I guess I could use it as a sub amp for the wifes car, but then I would actually have to buy her a sub and build or buy a box.

What should I do with this amp? What is it good for?

It produces 300 watts X 1 into a 2 ohm mono load.

"Boat Anchor", spelled R-o-c-k-f-o-r-d F-o-s-g-a-t-e.
It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

No... That was a bit of sarcasm on my part. You asked what it was "good for". Not a fan, AFAIAC, Rockford Fosbreak is only good for "boat anchor" duty.
