Hi,
Basically, my eclipse stereo unit does not want to power after I crank my car. It stays on in the acc key position, on in the on position but as soon as I turn the key (after the voltage drop) the unit does not turn on. Is my unit sensitive to the v drop because the cranking? I put back the factory stereo in and it does not have this problem. I tested the eclipse by hooking it straight to the battery (black, yellow, and red whenever i wanted to turn it on) and it turns and works fine. I was advised to wire the acc red lead to the ign 1 wire from my car (02 dodge intrepid). After my stereo does not want to power on in the run position, I have to reset it with a small object in the small pin hole thing and it will work fine. Is the ignition wire the way to go, or should i get a replacement that is not sensitive in the acc wire? thanks. Alan

Eclipse has a small issue with a production run of the CD3200 and it is in regards to the issue you are having. Take the cd player back and exchange it on a new one.

Top Secret, I can tell you but then my wife will kill me.

Thanks for the info. Yeah I contacted eclipse with the issue and they didn't want to admit they have problems with this particular model. I practically tore the car apart to install this unit. I wired it up with the appropriate harnesses with no luck and after the eclipse tech insisted it was a wire issue with my car, I decided to run new wires for everything to come out with the same thing, a non working unit. I've installed about 15 car stereos and I have a very decent professional like set up system with no problems. I've had Eclipse in the past and I always thought they were among the best car stereos but after this, eclipse no more. In case I forgot to mention this is the second cd 3200 that i get. The first one had problems with the usb part of it. That one worked for like 1 month and then stopped recognizing my usb drive. If it wasn't because the great customer service of crutchfield.com that allowed me to return, and return again, and finally to get another brand (very happy with my pioneer now) i'd be in problem with another company or with the manufacturer directly.
