hello audio guru's and novice's...  i  came across an amplifier from a buddy of mine, and im not sure who the maker is or if its worth fixing. its seems to be a treasure find. atleast i think. upon opening up this 3 foot monster, i found a sweet chassis full of quality work.  the wordin on the amp is silkscreened along the center of the amp. "G&S designs compitition 700" it also has checkered flags neer the "700".  without a pic of it i would say it resembles a gen.2 250 hcca.  now i havent fired up this beast due to a single channel blown.i have herd it action running 4 15's and i was like woa! i looked in the ampguts.com server to see if i could spot this bad boy. no luck there. i know some of you seem to have got to say get to the point mann!   who has bought out G&S?  and would it be worth fixin. thanx for any input. pix detailed pix will be here soon.

G&S , haven't heard or seen that brand in a while.
It's an old school PPI. Most likely a 2300A.
A good sounding amp, just don't load it down below 2 Ohms Stereo,
this amp was not bridgeable!

Here are some pictures of the PPI. Sansui also had a AM version.
Older PPI's dont like to be fired up without the bottom plate on. You can overheat things quickly since the plate holds the output devices to the heatsink. At least this is what I've been told.
This amp was put out late 80's, early 90's, back when PPI was worth something. Then there was the AM version that was bridgeable.
If memory serves it's 2x 2150M's in a common heatsink. Hence the two fused positive leads that take 35A fuses. I have one that has a burned out channel.
It's worth maybe a $100 sold as not working. Mine is in much better shape. What $$$ is your buddy asking?

the offer was 30 bux. im not to shure how to remove the paint without harming the anodized red. i removed the bottom deck for a good view. as i looked at the innards  bridging didnt seem llike was a option. oldscholl ppi. hmm very intersting. thanx for your input. any more infor would be very helpful.  whats the watt per channel? 350?
