no sound from new cd player

I have a 2003 chevy tracker which my husband just put a new panasonic cd player in for me. We followed the wiring diagram closely, and there is no sound coming from the speakers. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I read some of the other forums, and there is only one plug so there is no pink wire, and we tried hooking up the power antenna wires, but still no luck. The only wires not hooked up are the illumination wires. Thanks in advance!
