Hi guys, new to the forums, but have been enjoying your good advice for years.
I was looking for a setup that would be able to compete in either USACi 0-600w class or Street Beat 1 (2-10's or 1-12). I also need it to be budget-friendly since I'm a starving grad student. From my research, this is my tentative future setup.
Hifonics Brutus bxi 1610d        (550w RMS @ 4, and 1600w RMS @ 1) ~$200
2 - Alpine Type-R SWR-1042's (500w RMS each)        ~$100 each
The car is a 1st gen Toyota RAV4, and I've built a few boxes for this car, so I know how to make it happy/resonate hifonics brutus, alpine type r’s? -- posted image.
I'd be using the setup on full @ 1 ohm for competition burpability, and the gain turned down to a safe level for daily driving.
My question is, how would you, the gurus of the forum, upgrade the system?
Budget is $400-500 for amp and subs.
I'd love to run a DD 3512e, but that's a little out of budget, unless somebody has a hook up. hifonics brutus, alpine type r’s? -- posted image.

A pair of Pioneer Premier TS-W2501D4 (800w RMS) would also be appropriate. ~$125 each
Any preference of the gurus, between Type-R's and Premier Champions?

Check out AudioQue...good drivers for cheaper cost than DD's.
AQ is basically the poor mans DD sub.

Thanks for the recommendation, I've heard some good things about AQ.

if you were looking to run 1 12 you can pick up a cadence wildbeast for 99 bucks on their website in the outlet store as wells as a txa-1000d for 199.00 would put you where you want to be pricewise and from what ive heard of them thump wise also. total cost around 300 bucks and free shipping.

Definitely will consider the Cadence 1000d amp, because they really know how to build amps properly.
The Wildbeast is a little low on power handling for the situation of 1-12 or 2-10's, but the suggestion is appreciated. Just maybe for a daily driver setup, not for laying down a StreetBeating. ;-)

The setup you have already listed for us sounds great if your going to run  the amp at 1 ohm do your self a big favor and get a kinetic battery hc800 it will help dramatically to keep your voltage up to 13.8.

4 12s cvr sealed
2 hifonics bxi608d
1 kinetic hc 800
alpine reciever
infinity kappa door speakers

Thanks for the advice, 6th Ave. I have an 80 amp alternator, Yellow Top, and Big 3. I'll be thoroughly testing the voltage drop for the 30 seconds of Street Beat (Bass Race), over the summer, and an extra battery might help.
BTW, your sig is a little of, but I like the fact that you have experience with the Hifonics amp.
I ended up choosing the Pioneer Premier ts-w2501d. They were an excellent value, and have a strong motor structure and cooling that lets you design a box to really work em hard. In retrospect, I think they AudioQue SD2.5's would have been a slightly better choice, but at $100 a piece, the Pioneers were a steal.

And my tuning box... wee bitty...

Amp is currently a Lanzar Vibe 1000w RMS amp (scoff!). I'm saving up for the Brutus bxi1610d, since I haven't found a better product in that price range.
