I installed everything for the amp and now the amp wont turn on, i tryed the amp in another car and it works fine, now the only problem is that the amp wont turn on when its hooked up in the 2004 4runner, does anyone know if i will have to run a negative direct from the battery for the ground??

No ground for your amp max of 2feet. IT is the remote with that turns the amp on. Power and ground with the remote wire to the radio. If the remote wire is not hooked up/ or not right then the amp will not turn on

if you have a voltage meter you should test for 12v on your power and remote wire at the amp. check it twice, once with the ground lead on your amps ground, and once with the ground lead on a different ground. this should tell you whether or not you need a better ground.

thanks, but where can i get the remote from i was running it from the + wire of the rear tweeter is this possible. I am running the amp from the stock deck and using a low frequency module to give the outputs for the lows.

Ummm... I think you need to SERIOUSLY consider taking this install to a shop. "The positive wire on the tweeter in the rear"? That's an AUDIO signal, not a DC voltage. It will not turn your amplifier on!

the only reason why i was doing that is so that i would not have to touch the front head head unit,

umm....no. Just stop please. You may damage the amp. connecting the wires is the simplest part about the amp....I don't think you are ready to set the gain and cross over on the amp. Contact a professional, best advice.
